Using the Server Administration Tools

The Microsoft® Certificate Server administration tools provide services for viewing and managing the data contained in the Server Log and Server Queue. You use the Certificate Administration Log Utility for managing the Server Log, and the Certificate Administration Queue Utility for managing the Server Queue.

You must have administrator privileges on the server machine hosting Certificate Server in order to successfully run the Certificate Server administration tools. Certificate Server must be started before attempting to run the tools, or an error will occur when attempting to open the Server Log or Server Queue.

The Certificate Server administration tools are Web-based. You access the tools by browsing through Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) to the Certificate Server virtual root, which contains a link to the Certificate Server Web page.

From the Certificate Server Web page, select the Certificate Administration Log Utility to run the Certificate Administration Log Utility. Select Certificate Administration Queue Utility to run the Certificate Administration Queue Utility.
