Certificate Server Virtual Root

The Microsoft® Certificate Server administration and enrollment tools are Web-based. You access the Web-based tools by browsing through Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) to the virtual root for Certificate Server. Certificate Server's virtual root is represented on the server as follows:

http://localhost/CertSrv

When browsing the Certificate Server virtual root from a remote machine on the network, you must replace localhost with the computer name used to identify the server machine on the network. For example if the computer name of the network server running Certificate Server is CA_HOST, then another machine on the network would browse the Certificate Server virtual root as follows:

http://CA_HOST/CertSrv

The computer name syntax also works when browsing from the same machine (CA_HOST in this case), but is not required.
