  • Server and client authentication under the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol
  • Secure e-mail using Secure/Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (S/MIME)
  • Secure payment using Secure Electronic Transaction (SET)

The Certificate Server product consists of:

  • The server engine and support modules
  • The server database
  • Administration tools
  • An HTTP client for performing certificate enrollment
  • Software development files and sample code
  • Product documentation

This product documentation is designed to assist corporate information system administrators and Webmasters who install, configure, operate, administer, and customize Certificate Server. The documentation also assists corporate developers and independent software vendors (ISVs) who need to write custom modules and applications that interact with Certificate Server.
