Exit Module Customization

Certexit.dll is the default exit module, and is installed during Certificate Server setup. A new exit module can be installed at any time using the following procedure.

To install a new exit module
  1. Stop the Certificate Authority service using the Services applet in the Windows NT Control Panel.

  2. Run RegSvr32 with the /u option to remove the existing exit module DLL.. For example, to remove the default exit module enter:
    regsvr32 /u certexit.dll
     
  3. Run RegSvr32 on the new exit module DLL. For example, to install an exit module named myexit.dll enter:
    regsvr32 myexit.dll
     
  4. Restart the Certificate Authority service using the Services applet in the Windows NT Control Panel.

    Note The exit module is optional and unlike the policy module is not required to run the Certificate Authority service. In this release, only a single exit module is supported.
